Jens Ivo Engels is Professor of Modern and Contemporary History at the Technical University of Darmstadt since April 2008 (cf CV). He is also managing (non-editorial) editor of the journal “Neue Politische Literatur”.

His research interests include the history of political corruption, technical infrastructures, the environment, and political and social movements.

Since October 2016 Jens Ivo Engels has been the spokesperson of the Research Training Group “KRITIS” (Critical Infrastructures: Construction, Functional Crises and Protection in Cities".
