HDSM upcoming panel at National Life Stories international symposium, British Library

Prof Julianne Nyhan is delighted to have been invited to take part in a panel discussion on the interface between oral history and digital methods at the “The Life Story in Oral History Practice: A Two-Day International Symposium” to be held in the British Library, Fri 30 June 2023 and Sat 1 July 2023. The panel that Julianne Nyhan and colleagues will participate in on Fri 30 June 2023 is as follows: 15.30–17.00 Democratising access? The interface of new technologies and archived life stories

The symposium explains its aims as follows:

A ground-breaking international two-day symposium hosted by National Life Stories at the British Library, re-examining the role of life story recording in oral history interview practice: fieldwork, access and archiving, analysis and future technologies, re-use and public outputs. At a time when the long-form biographical interview is being challenged by tight budgets and outcomes-focused methodologies, the event aims to raise awareness of the value of the life story (see here).
