This course introduces students to some of the basic categories and concepts of history didactics whose knowledge will be essential for the process of planning history teaching units in the course “School Practice”.
In particular, the concpets of “historical consciousness” and “history culture” will be introduced, as well as the “competences” as defined in the official curriculum for teaching history at schools in Hesse. Moreover, the course deals with important theoretical questions. such as the constructivity of history, as well as more practical ones, such as heterogenity.
