To celebrate the 90th birthday of Prof. Dr. Karl Otmar Freiherr von Aretin, the Institute of History hosted a memorial event in July 2013, honouring the life's work of this outstanding historian, whilst establishing and for the first time awarding a prize named after von Aretin.
