ScanTent Workshop on 7th December

For our colleagues and enthusiasts in the field of digital humanities, we are excited to announce that on December 7th, we will be organizing a workshop to share knowledge on digitizing documents directly from within a library or an archive using a smartphone and a ScanTent.
During the workshop, Torsten Schenk will introduce ScanTent and Transkribus. Participants will actively engage in scanning documents together from the archive using their smartphones and a ScanTent. The scanned documents will then be transferred to Transkribus for processing.
There are no prerequisites for participation, except optionally bringing an Android smartphone. As preparation, participants may create a Transkribus account and install the DocScan app. Scanning will occur in groups (given the limited number of ScanTents), making participation possible even if someone cannot bring an Android smartphone.
If you would like to attend the event online, please follow the instructions on Eventbrite to secure your spot! The workshop is scheduled for December 7th from 10:00 to 12:00 at S4|01 264 (Haus der Geschichte, Universitätsarchiv). The participants will meet in the entry area (Vestibül) at 10:00 and be picked up from there to the workshop. Those arriving later should take the stairs on the right and ring the bell at the Universitätsarchiv.
