The schedule of the Italy Forum / Lecture Series is now available

From the recurring famines since antiquity to the discussion about the fair market price in the Middle Ages, the nationalisation of Italian cuisine in the Risorgimento to its worldwide marketing as cultural heritage nowadays – eating and drinking are not always an innocuous pleasure, but an extremely ambiguous topic in literature, as well as in politics and economics. The focus of the lecture series (each followed by a discussion) is placed on literary, linguistic, cultural-historical and -political dimensions of the topic. A panel discussion with prominent experts will conclude the series, which will be followed by an exhibition on the topic at the Darmstadt University and State Library.
