Joint teaching project by TU Darmstadt and the Museum for Communication, Frankfurt
In the summer semester of 2021, students of TU Darmstadt had the opportunity to gain insights into curatorial work. Under the guidance of Nora Thorade (TU Darmstadt) and Tina Kubot (Museum for Communication, Frankfurt), they designed a virtual exhibition on the history of digital storage media. The objects come from the collection of the Museum für Kommunikation in Frankfurt and were arranged especially for this exhibition:

Martin Schmitt received the award of the Forum InformatikerInnen für den Frieden und gesellschaftliche Zusammenarbeit (FIfF), 3rd place. He received the award for his dissertation on the digitalisation of banking in Germany.

International Conference „Transformation of Infrastructure Systems“

The interdisciplinary Research Training Group KRITIS invites researchers and practitioners to its second international conference in November 2021.
At first glance, infrastructures appear to be solid, stable and immovable. But is that really the case? Research in recent years has shown the opposite: Infrastructures are dynamic and malleable, characterized by continuous development, interruptions, breakdowns as well as reconstruction, and repair.
